7. Things to Consider
Lighting
Only using lighting from behind can create silhouettes
Coloured lighting
Bisexual lighting (pink purple and blue)
Filming at golden hour or blue hour creates dramatic lighting
Natural lighting on an overcast day can help prevent over exposure
When you use the correct lighting you can make your videos look a lot more professional
Costume
Can be used for contrast or to make someone standout
Makeup can be used to change body or facial features
You could also use body paint to make things pop or stand out
Costumes and makeup can help make your video look more professional
Fade To Grey by Visage is a good example of costumes and makeup/body paint
Black and White vs. Colour
Black and White
Can use if the video is too bright and can't be fixed
Can also be intentional and you can pin costumes and the setting around it
Selective Colour
When only one or a few colours are shown but the rest is in black and white
Colour
Can go all out with colours and make everything bright
Use a filter or specific lighting to keep the overall colour of the video similar
Have a reoccurring colour
Have a certain type of colour through the whole video (eg. neon, pastel)
In-between days uses black and white with blue tones and uses selective colour for specific sections such as backdrops and overlaying footage
